The Paraiso paper swatch book stands out from the crowd with its range of papers and cardboards for printing and decorating. Each product is meticulously described, making it easy for users to find the perfect material for their projects. The book also features eight sheets that showcase the possibilities of printing and decorating selected papers, serving as an additional source of inspiration for customers.
What sets Paraiso apart is its realization technology. The book incorporates various printing techniques, including hot foil stamping, blind stamping, punching, offset printing, screen printing, and the use of carefully selected Pantone colors. These techniques bring the patterns and colors to life, creating a visually captivating experience for users.
With dimensions of 185 mm x 48 mm x 250 mm when closed and 185 mm x 48 mm x 415 mm when open, Paraiso offers a compact yet comprehensive solution for designers. The booklet itself consists of eight cards measuring 180 mm x 245 mm, providing a detailed overview of the available papers and their unique features. Additionally, the book includes three samplers measuring 180 mm x 80 mm x 35 mm, further expanding the range of options for users.
Functionality is at the core of Paraiso's design. The book serves as an essential tool for creatives, simplifying the selection process by presenting professionally arranged collections of decorative papers. The visual booklet, complementing the paper samples, showcases a wide range of prints and refinements, offering a comprehensive view of the possibilities. The functional cover, complete with pockets for the described sets, adds convenience and organization to the design.
The Paraiso project, which began in April 2022 and concluded in December 2022, required extensive research and experimentation. The team behind the design conducted studies on the best selection of printing techniques for different substrates, leading to the development of special dies and multi-level matrices. These efforts ensured the optimal printing and embossing results, especially when working with natural fibers such as hemp, grass, or cotton.
Overcoming creative, technical, and research challenges was crucial in bringing Paraiso to life. The pattern book had to strike the right balance between functionality and visual appeal. Dividing the collection into three sets—recycled, colored, and white papers—facilitated the selection process for designers. The visual book, alongside the cover, proved to be the most challenging element, showcasing a range of printing activities such as offset printing with Pantone colors, screen printing, hot foil stamping, paper embossing, and die cutting.
Paraiso is a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of Izabela Jurczyk and her team at Studio Design Krzysztof Jurczyk. The paper swatch book not only offers a wide array of options for designers but also serves as a beautifully designed organizer, optimizing the time spent on design.
Paraiso has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2023. This prestigious award honors designs that demonstrate resourcefulness, technical skill, and contributions to improving quality of life. With its unique blend of art, science, design, and technology, Paraiso truly stands out as a remarkable achievement in the world of paper swatch books.
